Upon recommendation, my sister and I decided to spend our weekly girls night at NOM. Standing for ‘Not Only Meatballs’, the acronym sits itself on Elgin Street in Central. A first floor hub to watch the endless cars and people bustle down the busy street. Easy to find, NOM has a prime location surrounded by many modern and competing restaurants like Ho Lee Fook and Seoul Brothers.
As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by the very friendly and open staff. There are 3 sections to the restaurant. By the window, you can choose to sit on lounge chairs around small coffee tables, a more casual setting. There is an intimate dining area on the other side, positioned away from the hustle and bustle. And the bar, where we decided to sit. If you’re worried about the kinds of people walking in and out of the restaurant, don’t. Businessmen and women, suited up coming to wind down. Dates, because who can’t bond over meatballs? Food enthusiasts like us, fully enjoying the evening’s company. Everyone is welcomed and settles snugly where they want to be.
Now for the meat of the story. A great restaurant to relax and socialise in, yes, but what really attracted us was their happy hour offer. Whether its 2 for 1 or 50% off, we LOVE happy hour. But this is by far the best I’ve ever been to. For one drink, yes, ONE drink, you can get free flow pizza, pasta and meatballs from 6-9pm. FREE FLOW MY FRIENDS. And this is quality food. Thin crust pizza with a great variety of flavours. They offer pepperoni, margherita , mushroom, chicken, 4 cheese. They just. kept. coming. The meatballs were a wonderful surprise too, hand delivered to each person in the restaurant. Situating ourselves conveniently at the bar, we were also the first to be served the pasta. Arriving in a tremendous pot straight from the kitchen, the pasta was dished out by the chef and, again, hand delivered to each person in the restaurant. All the food was so fresh and delicious we really couldn’t get enough.
I was blown away by NOM and the quality of the food and drink they served. The service was great and everyone is welcomed with a smiling face. I highly recommend a visit to the restaurant if not for the fantastic deal, just for a great atmosphere and a good night.
